Day 1 Wednesday 7th November 2012
Fly into Cairns international or domestic airport. We will be there to collect you and transport you up along the majestic Cook Highway traveling along the coast overlooking the azure Coral Sea.
Once we’ve checked you in your first day is just a chance to unwind. Maybe a stroll along beautiful 4 Mile beach or just a relax by the pool.
Day 2 Thursday 8th November 2012
Today will be truly memorable aboard our cruise boat to one of the wonders of the world – the Great Barrier Reef.
A day full of snorkeling or scuba diving awaits you on this perfect day. Lunch and all equipment is included in your Eclipse Festival Package.
Back on land and the evening is all yours with a chance to visit one of Port’s fantastic restaurants and really finish off a wonderful day in style.
Day 3 Friday 9th November 2012
You’ll need to rest up after a few hectic days. But there’s still plenty on offer – even on a rest day. Maybe massage, shopping, see George the Groper or take in the local hospitality – we will certainly help with suggestions.
Don’t forget there’s always FNQ time. Just grab a book and sit by the pool or find a shady spot on 4 Mile Beach. For dinner we are hosting you at the Port Douglas Marina – a truly memorable award winning experience. Watch the sun set over the boats while dining on the Marina Boardwalk with catering by one of Port’s award winning restaurants.
Day 4 Saturday 10th November 2012
Today we visit the amazing Daintree Rainforest – the oldest rainforest on earth.
The day starts at the Wildlife Habitat with a sumptuous buffet style tropical breakfast with the birds, crocodiles, pythons, koalas, kangaroos and cassowaries all joining you in a beautiful natural setting.
From there we travel to the Mossman Gorge where we can walk amongst the giant figs and through the dense mangroves in an ancient wilderness. It will be just a perfect day.
Day 5 Sunday 11th November 2012
Sunday is Market day in Port Douglas. The cotter’s market features local arts, crafts, massage and tropical fruits for the table. After this delightful morning please join us at the Central Hotel for great music and even better company in the famous Sunday Session.
Day 6 Monday 12th November 2012
Today you visit some of the regions most notable attractions. We will take you first to board the Scenic Railway that winds up the mountainside where you can explore the Kuranda village nestled in world heritage rainforest. You will then descend on the amazing Skyrail through the rainforest canopy before we collect you for a well earned break back at your Port Douglas resort.
Day 7 Tuesday 13th November 2012
Tomorrow is the big day so we suggest a day doing just what Port Douglas is famous for – not too much at all.
But don’t worry if it’s squeezing every last ounce of experience you are after this holiday then we will organize your very own specialized tour.
Day 8 Wednesday 14th November 2012
An early start awaits you on this the day of the Total Solar Eclipse. Transferred by coach to Wanghetti Beach you will have one of the best seats in the world to see this unique phenomenon.
As you will watch the sun rise, first light, then the passing of the moon as it meets the sun there is no doubt spines will tingle and goose bumps will form.
For breakfast we go literally across the road to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure Park. Breakfast, crocodile tours, snake shows… and a chance to freshen up before we take you back into Cairns for your trip home or onto further holiday adventures.
